Ramona and David Werst
It’s kinda funny how people assume things, and we thought we’d better let everyone know who we are and what we are doing with the Tex-Mex Fandango & Blues Cruise IV. I’ve been asked if I work for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, if I’m an event planner, or just a friend of T. Gozney Thornton.
Well, I guess the answer is yes to almost all of these statements! The only thing not true is that we do not work for Royal Caribbean. However, we do book a lot of cruise travel through them as independent Cruise Agents with Texas Cruise Company.com, a cruise company we own.
But I do want to tell you more about us. We hope everything went well for you on the Tex-Mex Fandango III Cruise and we’d like you to know that we are qualified CLIA Master Cruise Counselors. That designation is hard to come by and it means we know what we are doing.
We don’t want you to think of us as just Travel Agents, answering the phone, taking your money and assigning you a cruise cabin. We want you to have a Fandango of an experience from your first contact with the Tex-Mex Fandango & Blues Cruise IV, seeing us at T. Gozney Thornton’s events, and finally enjoying getting away to the warm weather of the Caribbean in the middle of the winter!
Here’s more about us and how we’ve gotten here. David and I are both retired. David’s background is in publishing newspapers, he owned the Big Lake Wildcat for over 27 years and another national trade newspaper. He grew up in Big Lake, Texas and is a True Texan. Many of you have known David for many years, and know he loves to write, this is why he’s taken up writing all about Texas on his blog, Real Texas Blog.com He is also very creative and has just launched a very useful iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch App: Healthy Heart Numbers, check it out, it’s really cool. David researches on the internet and is always showing me new technology in Social Media. (Of course I get all excited to try it out and have to learn all about how to implement it….as if I have all the time in the world! Someone hurry up and teach me patience! lol)
I have a little different background, I’ve been an actress, and have organized several big charity events. So the Tex-Mex Fandango & Blues Cruise IV is what I’ve done in the past and what I still love to do. Now with modern technology, I’m having a blast using all the social media tools available. (I don’t have any formal training, other than what I am learning as I go on the internet, but I’ve come a long way) You can take a look at some of my accomplishments, I’m am just listing a few links, but feel free to explore and get to know me. Nashville NFL Alumni ; Reach for the Stars Wine and Dine Club; and Reach for the Stars.
When we retired, we got involved in a Travel company. I fell in love with the idea of arranging special vacations for people. We are not a brick and mortar Travel Agency but I take my travel credentials very seriously. We choose our clients to work with and don’t just sell travel to everyone. We are registered with CLIA (Cruise Line Industry Association) and are qualified Master Cruise Counselors. To become a Master Cruise Counselor, it takes a lot of training, not only in the Cruise Industry, but computer training since a lot of the technology that is now on the internet, inspecting the different cruise ships and different cruise lines, and learning about unique destinations. Another qualification is that you have to cruise on a certain amount of cruises personally on the different cruise lines and you have to sell a certain amount of cabins on the cruise lines.
Enough of the telling you about our qualifications. The most important point we want to make is that we are friends with Pam and T. Gozney Thornton, some of you grew up with David, and we think of you all as friends. We love following T. Gozney Thornton and Old Hat Band, and get used to me and my camera, I love creating memories. David’s even getting his other knee fixed so we can become dancing fools!
We are having a Fandango of a Time organizing the Tex-Mex Fandango & Blues Cruise IV, enjoying new friends, and most of all making memories!
Catch up with events and lots of pictures on our Facebook page too: Tex-Mex Fandango Facebook and be watching for our new Tex-Mex Fandango & Blues Cruise IV ebook.
