In the event you need to cancel your trip, the cancellation policy is as follows:
We understand that you are planning your vacation with us almost a year in advance and that unavoidable things happen in our lives. We will refund your money all the way to final payment without any penalties. (Except if you have taken out travel insurance, this is non refundable)
These are Royal Caribbean’s Cancellation Policies:
Cancel on or after November 16 – December 3, 2011 a $250 per person penalty fee will apply.
Cancel on or after December 4, 2011 – January 1, 2012 you forfeit 50% of the cruise price per person.
Cancel on or after January 1 – January 14, 2012 you forfeit 75% of the cruise price per person.
If you cancel on or after January 15th you forfeit the entire amount of your cruise except for government taxes and fees of $79.00 per person and gratuities of $81.55 per person, if these have been pre paid.
U.S. citizens must show proof of citizenship and we highly suggest you obtain a valid a Passport. If you don’t have a current passport, take immediate steps to get one. It really simplifies the entire process.
You can use a birth certificate (an original birth certificate, this is not the hospital birth certificate, but is a certified birth certificate, with either the raised seal or original stamp from the government agency ) and a government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license). For a complete list of accepted documents, see http://travel.state.gov/. Alien Residents need a valid Alien Resident Card. Canadian citizens must present a valid passport. Non-U.S. citizens need a valid passport and a valid, unexpired U.S. Multiple Re-entry Visa, if applicable. Royal Caribbean recommends that all guests travel with a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the completion of travel. The reason we highly suggest a valid passport, is simple, if you were to have to fly back into the United States, a valid passport is mandatory! You can use a birth certificate with a government-issued photo ID, and if you have a different last name, exp. you are married, you will need documentation, your marriage license, or what ever documentation that shows how your name that you currently have happened.
We use Travel Insured as our Travel Insurance provider. I will quote you the price of your travel insurance at time of full deposit and it is due at this time. If you purchase at this time pre existing conditions are covered. We suggest Worldwide Trip Protector policy, but if you want a different plan, we will quote that separately for you. We have found that with flu season, or accidents that are unpredictable around this season, it has paid off for several of our cruisers to receive their full reimbursement of their cruise by purchasing the Travel Insurance. Here are 21 Reasons to Purchase Travel Insurance.
Booking Cruise Excursions
After you have made final payment you may book cruise excursions online 120 days prior to sailing. Just let me know that you would like your reservation number and you can start looking and purchasing your shore excursions. The website address is Shore Excursions. You will need your Last Name; Reservation Number; Date of Departure (January 29, 2012); and Ship Name: Mariner of the Seas. You may also purchase excursions once on board the Mariner of the Seas. A benefit of booking online is if a shore excursion has limited spaces and is popular, if you wait until you are on board, it may be sold out. But if you are a 1st time cruiser, you may want to wait to talk to a shore excursion specialist on board for more details that aren’t available in the description on line.
There will be several jam sessions. These are informal gatherings of the performers, where they just sing and play whatever comes to mind…it’s a fun time and you are welcome to join in. Details of where the jam sessions will be located and the times will be available closer to the cruise date. There are also (3) 2 hour private performances with open bar. You will have a private party full of dancing and be able to enjoy an open bar…this means FREE alcoholic beverages! (Sorry, not top shelf, but you can drink, beer, wine and mixed drinks with well alcohol)
VIP Pass Laminates will be included with your documents. Laminates must be worn to the private performances. You will also need the Laminates to qualify for the Open Bar. Wear them to all performances, please.
Your final payment is due no later than November 1st, 2011. We will be in touch with you to make arrangements. You may make smaller payments between now and November 1st. We have some folks making payments that are paid at $25 a week…it makes no difference to us how you want to pay. It can fit into your budget as long as full final payment is made before or no later than November 1st 2011.
After final payment, we will call you to pre-register you on line. This is to take care of your homeland security questions, emergency contact information, make sure all of your details are correct, and enter your passport information. We will also set up your form of payment while you are on the cruise. You can choose to do this at the pier too. You will not need to complete the registration on line. We will have done this with you by phone. It’s just something extra we do that really saves you time later on.
At least 30 days prior to cruise date, we will print out your Set Sail Pass and documents and mail them to you as soon as we receive your luggage tags.
Hotel information: If you reserved your Hotel with us at the Hilton Galveston Island, information will be included with your documents.
Pre-Paid parking is available, it is offered at a discounted rate and is located right across the street from the pier. This parking is a secure parking lot, and fills up very quickly because there are 4 cruise ships in town that weekend.
